Default 40-60 reloader need info

I have a 40-60 reloader and I need more info on it the only readable info is 40-60 right under the mold hole and 2817 on both handles if anybody knows anything please help

Are you talking about a bullet mold? I am a bullet caster. Can you post a picture of the item in question? I might be able to help if you can provide more info.

The 40-60 Marlin and the 40-65 Winchester are the same cartridge. Is it just a mold? Or is it an old loading tool with an attached bullet mold?

linden- I am fairly knowledgeable (I thought) on these old loading tools but I have never seen one like this.
Is there any name on it?

I think it is a Marlin Brand loading tool. They only made them for awhile in the 1880's. Quite uncommon. Each one had a serial number. here is a pic.................
