I'm wondering how many of you reloaders also reload .380 auto pistol ammo?
I've been looking around lately at brass prices and it seems that the .380 is considerable higher than 9mm or s8 spec. Is this the norm? I'm seriously looking at a Bersa Thunder as pocket carry for a couple of reasons rather than a 9mm. The first being lower recoil. I hope to get my wife to carry and my Bro in laws, Kahr pocket carry is a handful for her. (cw9 I believe)
Plus I like the fact that it will go in a pocket.

I reload 380 for my bersa thunder. You're right, 380 is more expensive than 9mm. It's not as popular a round. That has changed a bit in the last few years, but I would think for every 380 round fired, there will be 10 9mm. I never buy brass, I'm always checking the recycle brass containers at my range (it's okay to take brass...that's why it's there). Also, when I see someone shooting a caliber I reload, I ask if I can have their brass. Most of the time it's okay with them. good luck

Thanks. I shoot at my home range for the most part so other peoples brass isn't an option. I'll no doubt buy a few hundred rounds to start and then use that until it's worn beyond use. Fortunately I use stainless media so it's quite easy to pick out any defects since the brass looks new after it's cleaned.

I would just buy a couple boxes of loaded ammo. Just make sure it is reloadable. That .380 brass will last you a long long long time.
