Wow what an open ended question. You hunting gophers or grizzlies? I hunt coyotes to elk with 180 grain Nosler Partions. I have never had a partition fail in over 60 head of game killed with one.

Big game? Elk, Mulies, Moose? I use 180's Bonded or Bergers.

Really depends on the deer. Texas deer, 150 grain is plenty. Virginia deer I would look at 165's

IMO, 150 grain is plenty for any deer. Find out what you like best and what works best in your gun.

I've been using 150s out of mine for years and never had one take more then 2 steps. How big are the deer in AL? What range will you likely be shooting?
IMHO, many hunters have much more gun and bullet then they need to hunt the game they are after. This does nothing but damage meat and pump their ego.

150 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip is one that will work fine. I like IMR4350 but there are many other powders that will do as well or better.
