Default .270 ammunition? any suggestions?

I have a new .270 and need some tips on what grain ammo to use on what animal I'm shooting 130g hornady soft points right now and plan on hunting coyotes, deer, and pigs.. and maybe some paper punching here and there.

Boltgun,

I would stick with exactly what you have with the 130 gr. soft points. One reason they will do just fine on that game and coyotes you mentioned. Secondly the soft points are probably the least expensive of the other options out there for you with the 270.
The 270 is an excellent caliber for most all Small to Midsized game. I would not want to take it Grizzly hunting but then again I would not take a 308 or 7 MM Remington Magnum Grizzly hunting either. As mentioned you have an excellent caliber. You will have to send us some picture.

Buy some different brands and weights and see what your gun likes better. If there is no noticeable difference in accuracy the 130's are fine.

I'm getting about a .75-1" group at 50 yards on a blank piece of steel with no clear point to aim at I think I cud duplicate that at 100 yards if a had my targets set up but just haven't had a chance yet

Its a good gun,I think its worth the money, the only problem was while I was breaking it in the first 20 rounds got the barrel ridiculously hot and I shot one and had to wait ten minutes for it to cool down but now I can shoot three round in less than a minute and it wont get near as hot
