You have likely shot thousands more bargain box, bulk rimfire rounds than sub par centerfire rounds. If you only count the high quality rimfire rounds you have shot the rate of malfunctions would be much lower.
Your statement is true centerfire rounds are more reliable. It's only the rate of malfunctions I question. Shooting mini-mags or stingers I can't recall the last time one of my 22LR failed to fire.

Here's the thing. Anyone who says ".22lr isn't big enough" let me say this: can I shoot you with it then? I'll thump one from my Ruger MkIIII center mass, and after you can punch me in the face. You'll be fine, just walk it off.
If its no big deal, let's make it 5...

Its better than a pointy stick. And Just because the round won't take someones face off doesn't mean it is inneffective. I would wager if you put 5 or 6 .22's into a in shape grown mans chest, a small woman could pretty easily defend her self from him at that point. Cause even if it doesn't stop him, he is gonna be more than aware of what just happened to him.

Seriously? The useless "let me shoot you with my __________, and see if you like it" argument?
Has anyone said that it couldn't be lethal? No.
Better than begging for mercy? Yes.
Is it the best possible choice? No.

If you go with the .22, aim for the vital organs in the chest, as it has often rad around harb bone, especially the skull. Also go for ball rather than hollow point, as there isn't much left of a bullet to expand if you go with a hollow point .22.

I've yet to meet someone who shook off 5 rounds of .22 and kept coming.
May not be lethal, but I'm sure it would stop the fight...

Do you now wish to rethink that response?
