Default 124gr +p 9mm ranger talon

I just won a bid on gunbroker for a box of 50, 124gr+p ranger talons. Are these rounds really that "exclusive"? (I havent been able to find them on any retail web site) My bid was $34+shipping. $49 total. Is that an alright price or can i get them cheaper somwhere else? If so where can i get them?

Default Great Round

I conduct a lot of ballistics testing with all types of ammo, both long gun and hand gun, and for a handgun, you can't beat the Talons. EVERY round we've recovered has mushroomed perfectly and penetrated well. They definitely changed my mind about 9mm. Used to be a .45 Power Ball guy, till I tested them. They don't generate the fps required to expand like the Talons. Good deal on them, by the way.

The Talons are it!!!! Mainly for LE. Every so often you can find some laying around. Only thing I carry when possible. 2nd choice is SPEER, and 3rd is Federal.

Why not HSTs? Sorry guys, I had to stir the pot. I don't think you can beat HSTs for an auto loader and price. I defend my wife and my life with them everyday in the 45 +p flavor.

If I'm out of town you'll have to face my wife with Gold Dots....death by which bullet is your choice.

$25 + shipping for 50 9mm. Very good price. Original black talons go for a lot more if you can find it. Nice to know this stuff is out there for sale.

Thanks for the link BB

BCLOUD

Glad to contact a hands on ballistics person.

You like talons. My experience with them is very positive, but I didn't select them for my carry rounds.

After using the old 'wet sears catalog' test, I decided on 165 golden sabre for 40 cal, and Golden sabre or gold dot 125+p for 9mm. Based on your testing, am i way off? I'm also fond of cor-bon for any cal.

By the way, the last Ranger T's I bought, I paid about $80/100 shipped.
