105 gr 6mm bullet in a 243 casing
Has anyone tried this? They miked out the same. Im shooting a mossberg 800b. They are loaded to federal power shok specs. I have 5 loaded right now. They chamber good. I have always heard that except for the brass the 6mm will shoot through a 243 w/o any problems, is this true? Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

The .243 is a 6mm. If the bullet mics properly then you can shoot it with the proper load.

Both of my loading manuals (Hornady and Speer) state 6mm and 243 winchester use a .243 diameter bullet.

They use the same bullet. A 105 is about the heaviest you can put through either. I generally load a 100 in the .243.

That wat my book says also but i want to make sure b4 i shoot them. I also found at the yard sale i got the 105s at some 115 grain hornady hp 6 mm bullets unloaded

I shot the Speer 105-grain SP in my Remington 788 .243 for many years with no problems. They actually grouped very well. Load data for the 105-grain bullet is listed in the Speer manual. Hornady also list data for their 105-grain A-Max for .243.

My next question is how will the 1 in 10 riflings handle the longer bullets of the 6 mm?

Marlinman, that is an interesting question. Hornady recommends that their 105-grain matchy bullets only be shot through match barrels that can provide proper stability for accuracy. Their 105-grain bullet is pretty long.
