would like some opinions on a sling
I just came across a Mossberg 500 pump 12 ga. yes,, the one in the tube ! Love it !!! Anyway, my question is ,
What would be a good sling to ad to it? one of the fancy 3-point ones? or just a basic one.
I have added a side saddle already. now I want a sling. Any input would be great.
thanks in advance and have a great day.

I just saw some slings from Sling Dynamics and am thinking about getting one for my AR, they are fairly well priced and look well made. You can check them out on eBay or their website,

its all a matter of personal opinion, but i dont like 3 pt slings on shotguns.

i prefer a std sling on my 590. i wouldnt be too opposed to putting a single pt sling on it though.

What is the primary use for the weapon Tintman?

I don't like a 3 point sling on a weapon that isn't for, say, room clearing or serious field work. It's just overkill and more money spent on something you don't really need.

Now, if you just want a sling to wrap into when shooting and be able to sling the weapon during a walk in the woods with the dog, I agree with Deth502. A basic, 2-point sling with a good shoulder pad to ease the ride pressure is a fine choice for the application.

My entended use for this shotgun is in house cleaning or,,, clearing. You know, that weird noise in the middle of the night...
Thanks for the input folks.

A 3 point sling doesn't work well on a pump shotgun. It gets in the way of pumping the action. A good 2 point sling is all you need.

The OutDoor Connection makes a good 2 points Tactical sling called The "Edge" that allow several carry options. It can be used as one point sling as well. It runs about $15. It's very comfortable and it's well made for the money.
