Winchester Model 97
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone out there could give me an answer on this.
I was given a Winchester Model 97 12ga. i'm trying to figure out the year it was made the serial # is C 233642 i checked a site on the internet and it had many serial numbers but none matched mine. thank you.

According to these site's Model 1897 Serial Numbers and Date produced
Winchester 1897 Shotgun Date of Mfgr
it appears it was made in 1904

Hi All,
need a little advice, i was just offered $300 for the gun is that about right considering it's age and condition. part of me wants to keep it just for the fact of how old it is, but i've been eyeing up a Sig pistol i want and 300.00 or more would help. what do you think??

I would not sell a 97 for $300 unless it was in terrible shape. Yours looks very good to me, but how is it mechanically?

No way would I sell for that even if it wasn't fully functional. It's worth twice that easy.

it shoots fine, i havn't shot it much, the past year, but it's pretty sound no problems.
