The 4 or 7 round tube depends on your gun. How is yours set up currently?

So, you have a Defender? What barrel did it come with? Every Defender I have seen came with an 18" cylinder bore smooth barrel. Post a pic, I have a Defender barrel

All of the Defenders I've seen have an 18" smooth bore barrel. I have seen some other arrangements with a 7 round tube and a longer barrel. I believe they were called Rangers and came with a 22" barrel....they are rare.
