Default Who made this 410 Shotgun?

I got this shot gun from my dad about 20 years ago. As far as I can tell the barrel is not cut down but the rear stock has been cut down. The finish is all gone when I got it I just tried to keep the rust down.

On one side it says 410 three inch chamber M8Ideal (kinda hard to see)
Other side has half a letter and 2 numbers Maybe M68 Japan

The hammer top has been rebuilt before my dad got it. The barrel is just over 19" long and over all is 26.5" so its legal from what I can find

Thanks

Warhawk,

You are correct regarding legal. A shotgun must have at least an 18" Barrel and must be a minimum of 25" overall length. As far as who made it I can not help you there. Maybe one of our other members will be able to identify it by its features and design. It seems that the Forend and Stock have been made after the originals were removed.

Thanks if I was wrong about legal I was going to see if I could get the grip replaced.

It is very close to a Stevens model my friend has but it is labeled very well where this one is not. And I heard from someone it might be a winchester model that was made by a diff company.

I am going to clean it up and throw a coat of paint on it. It shoots good just looks kinda rough.

Default new butt from parts supply

I'd suggest getting a NUMRICH parts catalog and looking it up.

Numrich Gun Parts Corporation

Thanks

I think it is the winchester model 37 made in japan. The wood looks diff but mine could have been sanded. The parts look a lot like what I have. Not that is makes a huge diff sure the value is $50-75 but worth more to me as my dad gave it to me.
