In the sense that a spoon and your mouth both feed your stomach, I guess.

The adjustable choke did not come into use by mossberg until the 185k model. What is on the end of your Western field is a removeable choke which is threaded on the inside of the tube. You can order the choke tubes and wrench from the same company that C3 recomended for the magazine. Congrats on a good, sturdy, relieable heirloom! I own a 185d and a 185k-a mossberg shotgun. They were the replacements in the model line for yours, and they have both served me well for many years. Enjoy her and treat her well, and she will do the same for you.

Not so. Clips feed magazines. Magazines feed guns.

MAGAZINE, PEOPLE. MAGAZINE!!!!!!

Well made shotgun. Inexpensive, but well made. Barring any major issues like a plugged barrel it should shoot fine. DO NOT attempt to shoot 3" 20 ga shells in this gun. 2 3/4" should be perfectly fine.

I could not understand what was meant by "drill the trigger", but I presume you mean to drill out the lock on the trigger. Be careful as many of these had plastic trigger guards. That plastic may be brittle with age.
Remember Robo, We all knew what he intended to say.
No need to correct a newbie, as he is a newbie!

"I think you know what is meant. Please stop getting so wrapped around the axle of such silly sh!t. You senior members and your pointing out how a newbie is not a smart as you is really annoying. Of course they are not as smart as you, they are newbies. Can we politely suggest more appropriate words rather than essentially call someone stupid?"

This was my "spoons/mouth/stomach" reference...bigdaddy, if you're still reading this thread, Robo has articulated here what I meant by that comment.
