Your gonna think I am full of crap but....A lot of the old fisherman around here keep a shotgun and slugs in the wheelhouse of their long liner in case they got something big tangled in their nets. Who wants to un-tangle a shark while its thrashing around?

Doesn't Mossberg make a line launching attachment for one of its shotgun models? I'd bet you could modify that to launch a harpoon right into a big white whale's eye. I still find it odd that Moby Dick was a big white sperm whale with a hankerin for a particular seaman.
