Trap is a gas
 

Took the Mossberg 930 Autoloader Turkey gun and my youngest son (24) out to the range today to shoot Trap for the first time.

What a gas.. Took out the Turkey choke, put in an improved choke and went out.

Multimillion dollar range and no one there at noon.
One of the experienced range masters gave us one on one instruction and a couple hours of his time.

My son is hooked. He can't wait to go again.

Father/Son time. Life doesn't get any better than that!!

Sounds like a great day! Breaking clays is always a great time, and I'm glad to see the younger generation getting into it.

Ever Sunday my son and I sit down in front of the TV during football season, pull out our parlay cards (we live in Vegas do betting on football is part of the game).

10 am to 5 pm we are watching REDZONE, every Sunday, every year. My wife brings us snacks and meals and we have a great day.

Tonight he informs me that he wants to skip the 2 afternoon games and go TRAP SHOOTING!

How awesome is that??

I go trap shooting with my son every sunday. We compete to see who is best. He wins most of the time but he is 40 years younger.

Mine is only 24 years younger, but is better at Trap than I.

However... He is not yet in the same ball park with me when it comes to handguns or rifles.

I just got into trap this year. I had shot skeet a few times 30 yrs ago, but just never got into it. Now, being retired, I have time to do more things. My friend, also retired, invited me to go shoot a few rds of trap earlier this yr, and I was hooked. I bought a CZ o/u 12 ga, joined a club, and go often. The ranges are only open a couple of days a week.
The best part of this story, is I got my son,(who's 39) hooked on it too. We have gone shooting a few times, and he's now looking to buy a shotgun. My gun isnt an expensive one, but it shoots just fine for me. Don't need a $2k-5k gun to have fun.
