Default stuck shells in a Rem 870

So I have two buddies with the exact same guns Remington 870's and they have exact same problem, they will fire the shotgun and the empty will get stuck in the bore and the gun wont cycle even seen the extractor rip the rim of the shell off and have to pry the thing out. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how it can be fixed.

This has been all over the internet. Some Expresses have had less than well polished chambers, and the el cheapo shells with the steel bases make the problem worse. I have also seen Mossbergs and Novas being beat on the ground because of hulls stuck in the chamber.
Either send it back to Remington and get them to fix it or get a drum brake wheel cylinder hone (about $8 at most car parts places) and do it yourself. Be careful if you do and do NOT let the spinning stones come more than halfway back out of the chamber or you will have a train wreck. Wrapping steel wool around a brass brush is a greatly loved recommended cure, but a lot of times it doesn't solve the problem. If the chamber is just dirty or fouled that does work.

Factory loads and I just tried polishing the bore with some shell wool see if that helps at all from the digging around on the internet sounds like this happens alot and that Remington sent out some barrels that are out of specs.

What year were your friends' guns made? I have an 870 and so do a couple buddies of mine and none of us have experienced what you describe.

I have an 870 express magnum that has a similar issue, sometimes when try to eject a shell empty or loaded it doesnt clear the ejection port. It will clear the chamber but it seems to fall off the extrator teeth once it leaves the chamber. I usually just flip it on its side and the ejected shell falls out but its annoying nonetheless. I think its just my gun and not the 870 design cause my wifes dad has a really old 870 and it doesnt do it.

Im not sure exactly when mine wad made, bought it used last year from my wifes uncle and he said it was around 12 years old, never fired, still in the original box
