These shotties, while sturdy workhorses, have little dollar value. I have inherrited my grandpas 6 shot sears (stevens/savage) 410 that his dad bought for him around the time he was 6 or 7. To me it is the sentimental and family history value. It is also a damn good shooter.

Show some respect please. It is a 'shotgun'. It is not a 'shottie'. That is a gangbanger term for a murder weapon.

Anyone using that term gets that answer from me. If they stop using it, great. If they insist on trying to act like a gang-member, I just leave. They get NO respect from me.
I did convince a friend to stop using it. Probably the only time anyone has listened to me about that.

I've never heard anyone use the term "shottie". I have heard scattergun though.

Scattergun has been used since shotguns were invented, I believe. Does not bother me.
After being in and around law enforcement for many years, I have heard 'shottie' a lot - mostly from gang members and other criminals - and the mall-ninja crowd who think it sounds 'cool'.

Sorry, that was auto correct. I typically use the term shotgun. Have never used shottie, all I can think is that this is a new phone.

you hear the term mostly from the tactical mall ninja wannabes!

personally, i detest the term "shottie" or "shotty". i just sounds immature and juvenile to me.

i see it alot on different gun forums.

the term scattergun has been around as long as i can remember though. don't hear it as much as i did when i was younger.
