The Stevens Model 311, a cheapened Fox Model B with Tenite Stock and forearm, was introduced in 1948.
Tenite stocks on Stevens double barrels were introduced in 1940 with the Stevens Model 530 which was made on the No. 5100 action and which had been adopted in the 1936-37 time frame.
The economy line Springfield Model 311 was the first Stevens gun to carry the "311" model number and was introduced in 1931. That shotgun used the G. S. Lewis designed action patent number 1,136,247 issued April 20, 1915 and covered the use of coil spring driven stikers in a hammerless double gun versus traditional rotating internal hammers. The Springfield Model 311 was made until 1947
