another product i have used is Kano Kroil for rust removal. wonderful stuff. i use it for most of my firearm needs now. very broad based, multi use product. i even use it asa bore cleaner.

The shotgun is fine, the finish on the 870 Express model is notorious for that type of rust, I could clean mine weekly and still have some form of rust develop. I don't know if it has been mentioned or not, but don't ever store your gun in a gun case, especially a padded zip up type, they trap moisture and the gun will rust worse than if you just stand it in the corner or put it in the closet or cabinet without a case. Cases are meant to protect the gun from damage when transporting, not for storage.

Just wiped the body down with oil and towel. Look like new. Should have thought of that myself.

I'm going to post it on gun broker. What's a realistic price I can expect? It's barely used. Probably only shot a dozen shells in its lifetime?

Didn't know that...thanks for the info as soon as I get home all my guns are coming out of the cases...guess building a new gun rack is now on the list of weekend activities
