read this past thread and it will make much more sense. it's not just the ammo prices but the fact they pulled their AR platformed rifles right after the Sandy Hook school shooting and then put them back up for sale. plus their shipping costs are sometimes double and triple of others.

Wow I feel good not ever buying from them. That's not horribly unlike every other sight that actually had anything in stock for the last six months tho. My fav for ammo is ammunitiontogo.com and ssarmory.com for 6.8 and .308.

personally i reload and buy what i don't reload at my LGS. he only raised his prices as to what it it was raised on him. he kept all his gun prices reasonable and and even didn't raise his AR platformed rifles prices. he was loyal to his customers, so i will remain loyal to him.

before ammo prices got insane, i was paying $23 a box of 525 Remington 22lr and my last box cost me $29 a box.

Buds is much better on their pricing and from many i have heard that bought from them, they seem to have pretty good service and customer feedback.

of the two, if i were to buy online, i'd probably go with Buds. but wouldn't buy anything from CTD anymore. they have gouged me too many times in the past on shipping. i buy now pretty much from MidwayUSA, MidSouth Shooters Supply or Brownell's. all of them have excellent service, fast and reasonable shipping costs and reasonable prices.

I agree with you but the only bad thing about buds is that they can't keep products in stock.

hopefully shortly that won't be a problem. seems like prices are coming back down and supply is going up somewhat. so over the next few months it should get better.

I just did research on the Maverick and I must say I'm diggin it. Not much of a difference than the 500 except the safety and the fact Mexicans make some of the parts. Correct me if I'm wrong?

pretty much so. not for sure where they are made, but mine says Maverick made by Mossberg and has Eagle Pass Texas on the barrel.

all in all, not a bad shotgun for the price. like i said the one i have is my second one and i wouldn't hesitate in buying another one.

the barrels and chokes for the M500 will fit them. also the buttstocks will interchange. the fore ends will with some minor modifications.
