Based on comments received, I shot a "Chapter Two" showing an example of hip shooting and aimed shooting, using 00 Buck.

In a self-defense situation, when you are using 00 Buck, inside your home, where you do NOT want stray pellets penetrating into other rooms, or even other houses, you must aim your shotgun, that is, shoulder it and sight it, not simply rely on point-shooting from your hip.

So, here you go. As far as I'm concerned the myth is busted.

What do you think? Take a look and let me know.

"You Don't Have to Aim a Shotgun"

Shotgun mythbusting chapter one was totally busted. Remember this?

although, you can still shoot from the hip with one at 7 yards easily.

You proving it can't be done by doing it yourself is disingenuous at best.

I love that you blocked me on your youtube channel. An admission that you can't handle the truth.

How dare I provide honest and accurate information.

I love how you then go to my videos; not to debate the issue but to fling insults.

Hard to keep track...

Are you the knucklehead shooting at steel from three feet away without eye protection?

You can't debate the issue so you fling more insults.

Your video only proved that God watches out for babies and fools.

In your video you are blasting at steel with birdshot at only three yards away, with no eye protection on? On your video you even tried to tell people commenting that there is no chance of you getting hit.

Were you even wearing hearing protection?

You couldn't even use your shotgun properly and had problem pumping it, trying to do so vertically. Geesh.

Explain to me how we are supposed to regard you as anyone with enough common sense to deal with any of these issues responsibly?

You further are simply not telling the truth about being 21 feet away from your targets, that is pretty obvious as well.

And finally, your demonstration does not show anything other than a few pellets or BBs hit your strips of steel.

You did not use a human size paper torso.
You did not show every pellet/BB in that torso target.

Sorry, Charlie, no dice.

But I'm flattered you even bothered to waste your time and money trying to "refute" my video

At least you are attempting a counter argument... I guess. Although insults don't rate very high on the intellectual scale.

Actually, center chest hits every shot, not one pellet missed the target, from 7 shot to slugs.

Not only are you incapable of debate, as we can see you have already abandoned the issue; but you are incapable of honest debate.

Wrong again. I provided proof that I couldn't get hurt. You know this because you were directed to that video.

No, I didn't wear ear protection.

Ya know what? I forgot to yell, "Going hot! Safety off!" too! OMG!!! People could have died!

Not the issue again.

So you don't think a shotgun can be cycled in a vertical position? I bet them duck hunters are in for a big surprise!
The problem was a shell I inherited, it got stuck in the chamber, then I unjammed it then shot within a few seconds.

You have proven yourself incapable to debate the issue. "We" have been debating it in your absence; since this is the first time you've acknowledged my posts.

When your house of cards fell, you changed argument from "just point and shoot" to "just Hollywood it" which is meaningless gibberish.

Again, a post with nothing of substance, because you have no understanding to argue the issue.

So you are just going to edit your post from now on?

So now I'm a liar. You are an expert at everything now. Tell us expert, what was the camera's zoom setting then?

Um dude, we see only the target when you're shooting.
I show everything! I show the gun being shot the hits are clearly seen, you know this.
Everyone that watches the video will have no qualms about distance or the shot placement.
You are reinforcing the dishonest debate assertion I speak of.

It is a bit short since the steel I had wasn't quite long enough. So?
It doesn't have to be paper to see the hits clearly.

Ridiculous! You really should be embarrassed. So what you are saying now is that the spread was larger than a torso? I thought you busted that myth in your first video?
I zoom in twice on the target.

No problem, the shells were free, and in less than 15 minutes I had a video that trounced your straw-man... and luckily, some of your allies unknowingly helped. Make sure you give them a shout-out as well!

Ok, I see why you added "substance." You wanted the post to look as if you were interested in debate from the beginning; I guess you thought it would look bad you not addressing the issue for 3 weeks... although, your "substance" amounts to unsubstantiated accusations; so there isn't any substance to your "substance."

I’d like to see both of you go head to head in a dynamic shotgun corse……or get a room one of the two.

Amsdorf: this is not a new concept, you’re not breaking any barriers here. Why are you making these videos ? Anyone who cares to educate themselves on combat shotgunning knows this and has for years. Just because someone doesn’t wear ear and eye protection doesn’t mean they don’t know anything. You hip shoot at a piece of paper and then you shoulder and fire at a piece of paper. What the hell does that prove? Nothing other than you can’t hip shoot a shotgun , you should have just left it where it was when you made a good point, is this going to be a monthly installment on shooting paper in a controlled environment?

The _Kid: You feel the way you feel, good for you….who cares. Why are you so argumentative? Would you prefer to see the world just hip shoot shotguns? Is this your mission in life you seem so adamant about? Anyone ever show you how to properly clear a stuck hull from a pump shotgun? You should be embarrassed to post that video, it personally leaves me wonder why the hell I watched it…..proves nothing……I do like your leaf spring target though, you do win the cooler target pissing match

Before you call me a straw man , tin man ,Marlboro man or someone’s ally save it… I am neither, I think you both are equally lame…..grown men arguing over youtube videos…..be proud

Seems only logical to aim.

IMHO the pistol grip/only is a big mistake

for most shooters, unless you're in

Hollywood, making a movie.

Yo, The_Kid, do you just have a lot

of extra time on your hands?

What you're claiming is that since you can successfully

shoot from the hip, that, in general, aiming is a poor idea?

You must be young, because you haven't become acquainted with

Murphy's Law, or humility, yet.
