Shaped shot
Has anyone attempted a shot shell with mass stabilized shot such as pellets? It might help to keep the pattern tighter, but I'm no expert.

Are you referring to Federal Black Cloud or Winchester Blind Side shot shells? I was recommended to try Black Cloud by an acquaintance who swore by them for ducks. I have bought a box and though my waterfowl hunting has been limited the last few years, they certainly do seem to kill ducks just fine. Better than round steel shot? Too soon to say.

Exactly. They shouldn't curve like a round pellet will, even if they fly a little wobbly, (airgun pellets sometimes don't do well at supersonic speeds).
