You better make sure you know where the measurements are taken from for the 18" minimum. Also, the Feds don't care if it is 6" or 17 63/64ths, you will go to jail.

if your reallllly set on doing at least find someone that will let you use a metal cutting cross cut saw or bandsaw so it comes out right... dont use a hacksaw. it will just look like some goblin did it on a street corner to make it easier to rob a liquer store.

a model 500 or 870 express is one thing but a model 11 ? even if it was rough to start its a bit of history made from 1911 till 1948 jb design the first autoloader built in the us

I had heard that it has to be measured from the bolt face.

You will have to cut it off at the front of one of the posts on the vent rib. Certainly nothing wrong with cutting it off with a hack saw and then cleaning it up and straightening it with a file. You can also wrap some fine sandpaper around the flat file to totally finish the job. Take your time and everyone will think it came from the factory that length.

It is measured by dropping a rod into the barrel with the bolt closed.

It will be uneven, you will snag the rib and it will never look right after it is bent. But, good luck with what ever you want to do shooter!

It really won't if u know what your doing and use the right blade and a guide it'll look pretty good I've seen it done slot like this

Thank you everybody thinks it's a bad idea but I know pole that have done it and it turned out real nice
