The Saiga is going the way of the Dodo here in the US I've been told, so I would then choose the 930 or Benelli M2.

the saiga 12 is freakin sweet because you have clips and you can buy 20rd drums so that makes easy reloading but for a home defense id probably go with the mossy 930SPX if you are set on your ways with going with a semi-auto that is. If you still are open for ideas i might consider a pump. a good cop friend of mine once told me, "when someone is unwelcome in your home good guy or bad there isnt anything that makes the ol' heart jump out of your chest then when your in the dark and you hear that shotgun slide cycle." thats why the ol 12 pump is right there at my bedside... just a thought.

Dunerunner: I'm curious why you say the Saiga 12 is going the way of the Dodo, Right now, the Saiga 12 is one of the most sought after shotguns in the US. After doing a lot of research, I decided to buy one, right...took about three weeks, finally found one at K-Var Arms in Las Vegas. Being built on the Kalashnikov frame, it is very dependable and functions under the most adverse conditions. There is no end to the modifications available to make it your "Custom" gun. Anyone considering a semi shotgun should Google Saiga-12 and watch the videos. Better buy ASAP as the DC Crowd is looking hard at the Saiga and will probably try to cut off imports, the BATF is supposed to make a decision on May 1.
