Default Rifled slug barrel

Does anyone here know of a custom gunsmith that rifles existing shotgun barrels. I am interested in rifleing a Winchester model 12 and making it a 12 bore rifle. Thanks

I would think rifling a smooth bore would be a bad idea. a rifled barrel seems a bit thicker barrel wall over a smooth bore. you may want to look into an own smooth bore or see if a smith will make a barrel. the cost if able to be done will probably be closer to a 2nd barrel, so why not pay for a barrel designed to be rifled.

If you can find someone to do it you better have lots of money. Rifling is made by machining out the grooves, not adding the lands. Might be able to mate the front end of a rifled barrel to a Model 12 receiver end. And before you blow that off, remember most double barreled guns have the barrels mated to a receiver block. Good luck.

Just get a used rifled barrel. You will likely come out cheaper and you don't have to worry about anything going wrong.

Winchester model 12's were never offered in rifled slug confiquration. I have heard and talked to a knowledgable shooter that had a barrel rifled by someone who is now retired. I was hoping someone in shotgun country knew of another gunsmith performing such work.

There are Hastings Paradox Rifled Shotgun Barrels that are made for many different shotguns. Possibly you could find one from them. I dont know if they have a website. Found a link. http://www.hastingsbarrel.com/
