Had a decent scope and everything. I had to sell my Marlin while in college to help pay the bills. Long story short, I walked out with a new (used) Pistol, a good deer rifle, a holster and 150 rounds of ammo instead of a new Smith pistol that I knew nothing about. That, my friend, is how it starts. Lots of 2 for the price of one deals in the years since.
Did some research. I want a mohawk now.... damn it.

Yes, research. We use that as a way to justify our purchases. I bough a Win 670 30-06 for $250 after my research told me that they go as high as $450 when in good shape. I made a great deal. Now I have to take up black bear hunting as my 30-30's are perfect for deer. If I use it then I need it and if I need it I'd better use it. God bless my wife

Mohawk 48 Shotgun Question

According to the serial number that gun was produced in 1970. We do not have any further details on that serial number but it is possible that it can originally chrome. The Mohawk 48 was in production from 1970 to 1974.
We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for contacting Remington.

Hello.

I recently bought a Remington Mohawk 48 shotgun. Serial number 5253647. It appears to be chrome. Can you tell me anything about it and if it is actually chrome?

I've included several thumbnail photos if that helps.

So I guess I can safely assume it's chrome.

Interesting. Everything I have ever seen before says all Remington recoil operated semi auto shotgun production ceased in 1968, and I still believe that to be true. I hate to cast dispersions on Remington, but the info one obtains over the phone or online is becoming more questionable. If it comes snail mail and has a nice green Remington logo on the top of the printed page, I have not seen any bad info yet.

I dunno' Virginian, it's a mystery to me, but it sure looks like chrome. At any rate, it's a keeper no matter.

By any chance are you a member of the Remington Society? If you are, would you be willing to inquire there for me? I don't really want to shell out $40 bucks to join. Let me know.
