Remington 887 Nitro Tactical

Few weeks back someone was asking about input and accessories for the 887, just seein if that info was still being sought after.

The 887 has no accessories. You could probably find some universal things that will fit.

I got the Blackhawk Specops stock for an 870 and milled it out to fit. Turned out pretty good. I was just looking for the previous thread where someone was asking about it to let them know that it's workable.

That gap would bother me. just something that will allow the gun to get caught on something?

Same here. I am pretty anal about my guns. I don't mind scratches (depends on the gun) and the like but stuff like that gap would bother the crap out of me.

Unfortunately the gap is a necessary evil, during recoil reduction the trigger guard needed the room to move. It may be a problem for someone with little hands as far as the trigger reach. I run several warrants, 5 days a week and have yet to have anything get caught on the weapon. If something is getting in that close of a proximity to your trigger finger you have bigger issues than the gap. Accessory lighting would be more prone to such an incident. Aesthetically, the gap is somewhat annoying but that's the extent of it, unless, as I said, you have small hands. Until someone makes one specifically for this gun, just wanted to let folks know this is an option if they have a need, as I did.

It is cool to know you can retro fit stocks. Have you triedthe forend?

Nutbuster17 04-18-2012 06:17 PM

No, I thought about it but opted to keep the original long forend, as it conceals and protects the slide action. Passed the forend on to a co-worker who bought the Blackhawk (-the forend) for his 870.

On my forend I had to cut off some plastic to make it fit.i have a gen 1 though and my 870 is from 01

Ya, talked to my partner and because of his side saddle on his 870 the forearm wouldn't work, it prevented the action from going back far enough to pick up a shell. So he gave that one back to me and I gave him an old short Pacmyer for-end that i had and it worked perfectly, looks good too.
