Got an old remington 870 wingmaster barrel. The gun sat in my grandfathers garage in a bag and got really rusted. the barrel is pitted pretty bad but it works. the inside is clean. since the barrel is blued should i consider having the barrel milled down to 18" for home defence and buy a longer barrel for hunting or should i have the original barrel re-blued and buy a home defence barrel?

You can probably buy a new barrel for almost the price of re-bluing the old one, that's what nice about the 870s, spare parts everywhere and cheap. You probably can locate a used barrel in good shape and save a little $. Cha-ching.
