Both 870 and Moss 500 are decent fuctional guns, I too feel the 870 is a little better made but many will say otherwise, it mainly comes down to what you like and want to spend.

Didn't quite exactly expect that reaction! But thanks guys. I work in LE and we carry the 870s as well in the trunk and after a year on the job get certified to carry a rifle as well. So ill look around for a surplus 870. Besides the 1100 is my grandpas and I wasn't liking the idea of "butchering it". It's going to be my deer gun and sporting clays. So I really appreciate the help.

I was trying to decide between a moss and rem. after growing up with a 1100 for 30 years. My son asked me " at 3 am, do you want to try to find the safety(moss on the back) or know insticively (trigger guard) where it is". Nuff said. Its whats more comfortable when &@); hits the fan. Bought an 870 and never looked back

I got this 870 for almost free, it had a full length barrel on it and I cut it down to 18" the stock was on it when I get it, I keep it stuffed with 000 buck next ro my bed.

How well does the knoxx spec ops stock work ? Some had the springs break...

Doesn't their PR machine claim 90% reduction in Recoil? Est Verdad ?

Mine has worked fine and held up through 500 rds or so, at first I didn't like it because though it took all recoil out of your shoulder it redirected it and uppercut ya in the cheek, but after I figured it out it works awesome!
