Could anybody tell me where I might find a full choke barrel for a Rem 1100 2 3/4" 12 ga.? I've heard tell of a 30" steel shot tube but I'm looking for a buckshot deer barrel maybe shorter?

The length of the barrel matters little relative to pattern density. Get a 26 inch barrel with the srew in Remchokes. The choices in styles of screw in chokes is only limited by your wallet.
OK, let me ask this ; Is it true that fixed choke shotguns have a gradually tapered barrel, and screw-in chokes force all the shot together at the end of the barrel, causing the lead to deform as it leaves the barrel? Been a long- standing question I've had.:confused

NO.
The "choke" is in the last couple of inches of the barrel, regardless of the length. I once had a full choke barrel converted to modified. The 'smith used just reamed out the last inch or so of the barrel.
It is not uncommon to see specialized turkey barrels are as short as 22 inches in length.
This is also why barrels were fitted with "poly-chokes" prior to the development of screw in chokes.
eBay has several, and so does GunBroker. If you found this you must know how to do a search. You can also have choke tubes fitted to existing fixed choke barrels, often for quite a bit less than a new choke tubed barrel. And finally, for lots of uses a fixed choke is fine as is.

Yeah, I think I got the Search thing figured out. A friend was hoping to give his 1100 to his grandson for his first deer season, hoping to find a full choke barrel. I wouldn't change a thing on my 1968 1100, it being the finest bird gun I ever owned. It performs today just as it did new.
