No, not every cop is a great shot but the majority of LEO's will out shoot most noncompetitive shooters. Comments like that are simply ignorant.
Hi AdkFlight. My many years of competitive shooting experience bare you out.

4+1 rounds? No thanks!! This proves what I'm talking about. Most semi-autos are birding guns. Tell me an HD shotgun (8+1 or greater) that is semi-auto less than $1000.

I'll take a $400 8+1 pump any day.

I tend to agree with ya Chris. I've had my eye on the Benelli Nova Pump Tactical with a ghost ring sight ($430 4 + 1 shots). If ya feel the need, a mag extender is available ($76). I prefer straight grips over pistol grips.

Mag extender (take your pick)

It's also offered in semi-auto (but with rifle sights).

I have a Mossy 935 with an extended magazine tube that holds 8+1. Got mine from a buddy who passed away. He had put on all of the tacticool stuff (most of which I have removed) but you can easily get one totally tacticooled out for under $1000 I bet. Heck, I have a 18.5" barrel, pistol grip stock and a receiver mounted shell holder I would sell you if you want to get set up. Might still have the fore-end picatinny flashlight mount as well. I am keeping the extended magazine tube though because I don't have the stock one, but if you get one I will trade + cash for mine.

There is one exactly like mine was on Gunbroker right now for $740. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=310144207

Since when is a "HD" shotgun required to have 8+1 load capacity...? My "HD" shotgun happens to be a Remington 1100 that I use to dove hunt that holds 2+1.. Also you can buy a nice used 1100 tactical with all the accessories you "need" (ghost rings over bead sight, high capacity, collapsible stocks, pistol grips, etc..) for under 1000. It's not a Benelli or FN which is what it seems like you're hinting at...

My Benelli M2 is 5+1.

If I can't get the job done with 6 rounds of 00 buckshot, shame on me.

yes, I can get an exctender for 7+1. But for what??? I'm not going to be the point man for an infantry squad.

I also forgot, you can buy a Saiga unconverted for 600 and get a 20 round drum mag if the 5 round isn't good enough for you

I'm not picking on ya (heck, I'd probably like ya), but I would respectfully disagree with ya Vikingdad. Most "gun owners" are not "shooters." If they were, we would need a lot more shooting ranges. My dad owned guns, but he wasn't "a shooter". Oh he would go to a range once every couple of years. And he was pretty good at slow, deliberate, off-the-bench, rifle fire, but I don't think he would have fared well in a gun fight. Sure, most members of a forum like this are "shooters". But most gun owners don't belong to any gun forums. All I'm saying is that self defense entails a lot more than just point and pulling the trigger. From my experience, I still maintain that most gun owners are not at all prepared to defend them self with their weapon.

Are we still friends???????

Default The Solution

My home defence weapon Hatsan Arms MPA
8 shot ghost sights will shoot just about anything and ultra reliable. It is surprisingly cheap for such a fine weapon.
