I have no preference when it comes to pump or double, I have and use both. I have a Mossberg 500, 2 Remington 870s, a stevens springfield 5100, and an Armadeo Rossi Overland. All of them get used.

Like a few others on here, I also have a soft spot for old bolt actions. The three I have are a Kessler model 30C, a Mossberg 185d, and 185k. The Mossbergs are my primary hunting shotguns, the Kessler is a secondary/occaisional use shotgun. It was bought due to it's ties to local history, It was made 2 miles from where I live during the 1950s. The company only made shotguns from 1950 to 1953 and then went bankrupt. The shotgun makes one heck of a conversation piece in the feild and at the gun club.

Double Barrels are classy but you better have a strong shoulder and a great shot if your bird hunting with it. My Best Friend started with a single shot Ithaca 12 gau 40 years ago and while it wasnt the most accurate, I wouldnt want to be downrange when he was shooting at you, he rarely needed to reload and brought down more deer with it than the rest of us with our pumps.

I prefer my old Ithaca Featherlight, 2 different barrels, Light accurate and a second and third shot right behind #1 if I want it! Its all about choice, if you are a great shot and dont need 3 bullets quickly, nothing is sharper than a double barrel!

LOL good idea. I do like the look of a sxs but I love the feel of a pump. Although I'm going to have to look into this bolt action.

I have for home defense, a 20 gauge double barrel Coach Gun. I also have lever action 12 gauge that holds 7 rounds. I feel cozy with these babies.
