If I was concerned about a product I would call the manufacturer, not run to an internet forum, but that's just me. Whole lot of conclusions drawn from just two little lousy pictures. Alignment and gap don't look that bad to me. I believe I would be a little concerned about a bad machining job on the receiver that we didn't get a pic of.
Remington offered to take it back. He doesn't want to wait.

He did contact the manufacturer, and posted here to hear what some other possibly savvy gun owners thought before making a decision. Not unreasonable to me.

Oh yeah, I recognize it. Been there. Much prefer Neptune Park to Mount Trashmore! I'm from Williamsburg, but spent a lot of time in Va. Beach and Sandbridge back when it was only two roads deep and Princess Anne Courthouse was out in the country. Now I live in Louisiana. Moved from one hurricane coast to another.

Nice, I'm actually in Newport News. Spend a decent amount of time in Williamsburg. Matter of fact took the boy to chickahominy wildlife area to hunt squirrels today, just got back.

Just went to go look at my Rem 870 that I got 2yrs ago. It is not as canted as yours is, but it's there. My shoots/operates perfectly for a lil 20ga. I would say yours will also. Go and run a box through it and then decide whether it's worth sending back.

They can't be very savvy if they are willing to accept a new gun that will be worth $150 in a week. When I buy a new gun regardless of the price I want to be able to fall in love with the gun. If I love the gun anyone who wants to own it knows they need to make a fat offer for me to consider it.

I also just noticed I have the same gap between the rib and receiver. Maybe that's why I suck so much at shooting clay pigeons! But in all seriousness, run a box of shells through it and see if it affects accuracy. Then go from there.

I think that's exactly the kind of advice he was looking for.
