I bought a couple guns at an estate sale last weekend and if you have been following the restors I have been doing in the gunsmithing area you will understand my desire to tackle these two guns and I like to know as much about the guns I restore as possible when I blog about the project but I must confess I dont know much about this gun other than what I have been able to get from the web (and some of that info in contradictory) so I am here to ask for insight from the folks here since you seem very knowledgeable in matters regarding IDing old guns. Im given to understand it to be about 100 years old. I understand it is a very low value gun and it looks at though the 30 inch barrel has been cut to 29 since there is no front bead nor a hole where the bead would go and the barrel measures 29 inches. I will also assume its chambered for 2 1/2 inch shells. Here are pictures of one of the guns.
The receiver appears to have been case colored.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. The other gun is a Stevens 12 Ga. I will start a separate thread for that one.
wish I could find an old gun to try to restore for $33 lol I am seriously envious of your skills man like seriously you polished a turd and turned it into a diamond in all the restore threads you have done.

The H&R looks to be restored. If I had a dollar in my pocket for every gun I shot as a kid in about the same condition I could take all the forum members out for steak. What can I say? I like my old guns to look worn and my new guns to look new.
