So i bought this old pre-serial stevens model 77 on the cheap and decided to refinish it and make it a HD gun. I really like the way it turned out and just wanted to share some pics. This thing had never been cleaned so i stripped it all the way down cleaned everything, and cut about 5 inches off the barrel. (yes it is 18.5 so still legal.) Refinished the stock and painted the whole thing OD green.

It only took me three days to do the finishing work, but 4 days if you count the break down then cleaning and preping the surfaces. Preping the surfaces (both wood and metal) is really important for getting a good finished product.
