old hopkins and allen double

I have an old exposed hammers hopkins and allen double barrel shotgun. What i want to do with it is turn it into a coach gun. It has a 26in barrel and im thinking about cutting it to 18 3/4. My question is, how do i relead the section between the 2 barrels? And if u guy and gals dont think i should do it why not. Thanks

If you cut it you can fill the small hole between the barrels with epoxy(you can color the epoxy black when you mix it).
Whether you cut or not is up to you. Are you sure the gun is safe to shoot with modern ammo?

Yah ive been shooting it with the cheap federal for wally world. I had 2 of my gun smiths at work look at it and they both said its good to go.

H&A went out of business in 1916. Yours is earlier than that if it has exposed hammers. They are strating to have some collector's value if they are in good condition. Why not look at a Rossi already in coach gun config?

Numrich is sold out- but any true gunsmith could make a spring for you.
