Devin,

Are you going to shoot Skeet or Trap? Or Both? The $500 range is good! You can get you a decent shogun for that price range. But please be a little more specific on what you are going to use it for. Shooting a lot, or little on occasion, Are you going to also use it for hunting, what gauge are you looking at. The Pump or Auto Loader recommendation would depend on some additional information you can provide. Thanks

Glad you're getting into the sport when you get a sec stop on by the intro section and tell everyone a little bit about yourself. As Sniper said a little bit of info is still needed to make some recommendations.

The intro section is here: http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f2/ and for the shotgun Mossberg 500 combo like this: http://www.basspro.com/Mossberg-500-Dual-Combo-Wood-12-Gauge-Shotgun/product/10218032/-1046931 but do not buy it from Bass Pro.

Devin,

Please get that Intro taken care of! We would like to welcome you to the Forum.

There are a lot of fine pump shotguns available in the $500 range. But for Skeet I was thinking you might be better off with a Semi Auto Shotgun.

There are several that also fall into the price range with vented rib barrel and interchangeable chokes which you must have to make the shotgun versatile for what you want it to do for you.
Here are a few to look at:

CZ
Howa
Mossberg 930 Series
Stoeger 2000 Series
Weatherby
I am sure there are more some other good ones run in the $650-699 range!

Good Luck on your selection and have a great time. Skeet to me was a blast and also helped me get tuned up for quail hunting season.

The op doesn't want to spend $500 on it.
