I give you mad props for shooting that gun. I shot a pistol grip shotgun once 2 3/4 buck shot, and I will never do that again. To much force to the wrist.

Mine was dubbed "the terminator"

6 pos stock w/ pistol grip
6shot side saddle
Heat shield
Ghost ring sights
Laser
Light
Combat forehand
With "the terminator" embroidered in it

My 590 will be the same with "mean machine" embroidered.

If you must go pistol grip only, I'd go with the Hogue Tamer. Much easier on the wrist than the one Mossberg gives you.

I've been thinking about getting this exact 500 for home defense. Thanks for the heads up and the link.

i had a pistol gripped mossy for hd until i started thinking about it. a full stock has the added benefit of faster aim and i like having the option of smashing someone in the teeth with it too. so i put the full stock back on mine.

Hogue makes great grips.

I've got two sets of them, and they're

worth every cent.

That said, I prefer the standard 500 shoulder stock.

IME the 12 gauge kicks like a mule, even with

birdshot. YMMV

With the Knoxx system you can 1 hand 00 buck all day, truly an amazing system. completely eliminates that smack you feel to the web of your hand.
