A lot of Westernfield's came with an adjustable choke called a polychoke. Someone probably cut the polychoke off for some reason.

Old English for light woods would do wonders for the stock on that gun.

Polychokes were great chokes. Too bad.

Not bad for a C-note. Looks to be a Mossberg 500 clone. If you know someone with a 500, see if they will let you check to see if their barrel will fit. If it does, you can find a used on for around what you paid for your shotgun.

Or this would work as well. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/473040E.htm

No picture on the site, but I have one on my 30C. It's a 6 position selectable choke that is also a compensator. you will need a smith to solder it in place, but it also has a front site, and it clicks into possition when you select a setting. Here's a couple pics.

Looks like a Mossberg 500 version. It may just have one of their standard 18" barrels. Other Mossberg barrels should be fairly easy to come by and easy to swap out.

Install a Poly Choke and immediately reduce the value of the gun. Yes some people love them, but a WHOLE lot more hate them. They work. I hate them.

Your shotgun is a Mossberg 500, made for Montgomery Wards stores under their brand, and yes, a 500 barrel should fit. Numrich is sold out, but you can find them on EBay between $100-$200, or check with a true old time gunsmith- he may have a used barrel in the stack of spare parts.

IMHO, the store brand pump guns can be one of the best bargains out there.
