You being very knowledgeable, I was wondering how you were able to narrow it down to a particular year? I definitely agree it being Parkerized was a refinish.

Well, back in 1919, I decided to go buy a new shotgun, and the local general store had just gotten one of the newfangled pump shotguns in, and the serial number of that one was close to the one in the OP.


Naw, I'm not THAT old!

Serial number ranges- Model 1897 Serial Numbers and Date produced
