Yep sounds like polychoke. Never liked them myself. Factory choke system always seamed to work better.

FYI the rifled barrel is a must for most of the newer Sabot slugs. The mossy 500 combo is the gun I've used to deer hunt with for several years with no problems. Good solid gun for the money. I own the 12, 20 and the 410 versions. Plus an addon barrel for 50 Cal black powder. Very upgradable gun...

PPS Boyd's makes a nice aftermarket stock for this that doesn't look "tactifool"

Unless the gun is old enough to have a walnut stock I would just buy a new gun. The poly choke worked but it a pain in the ass to remember how many turns you wanted for each task. The choke tubes are much better than a poly choke.
