Default My remington

Thought I would show one of my favorite firearms. I apologize for the fuzzy images, and also the last picture says "Sportsman 58" on the reciever.

forever,

Nice Shotgun! They were made form 1956 to 1963. They are a nice shotgun. What Gauge and choke is yours in. And it looks like it is in fairly good condition.

It is 16 gauge and I'll have to go look at the choke on it, but I'll get back to you.

Thank you. It was given to me by my father and it performs like a champ plus she has developed a nice patina coloring. I'll try to get some better pictures of it up in a little bit .

She's also a little bit ammo picky, but that's no big deal for me. Maybe now that I fully took her apart and gave her a very good cleaning she will cycle the Federal ammunition I have.

Most semi-auto shotguns are sensitive to loads. Primarily if you use lighter loads with what we call Low Brass they are more susceptible to malfunctions.
You may want to do some research and see how many 16 ga. 58s they made.
If I remember? I believe they made around 270,000 model 58s total?

That's what was on my to do list today and to see if I can find when mine was made. The odd thing is mine only malfunctions with High Brass, but I've only been able to find the Federal so I'm not sure if it's just the ammunition or what. Hopefully I'll find out soon when I go shoot it and some various ammunition I ordered.
