What you think of this as an option for what Im looking for? I dont know much about shotguns/ rifles. With a decent foldable stock for portability and a picatinny rail to hold my insight laser/ light, it seems like a cool option. And it looks bad ass to boot.

GaryThePilot and all: I saw this RoadBlocker at the gun show today and liked it. While a lot of guns may be cool to macho with your friends, home defense tools are serious first and cool maybe. I already have a plain vanilla 500. I have outfitted it "cruiser style" to be more maneuverable if it had to be used in the house. But the recoil / pistol grip combination is REALLY brutal to the wrist! So the RoadBlocker seems quite functional, plus it gives an extra boost to the intimidation factor. Thanks for the recall tip, hopefully it will be back.
I also have a Mossberg HS-410. The HS means Home Security. I have shot it on the range but, thank God, never at home. It appears to be the perfect home defense weapon. Unfortunately, I don't see it on the Mossberg product menu any more. It has a very functional muzzle brake, combined with a very wide choke, so basically it is a blunderbuss but with minimal recoil. Definitely not for hunting unless they are the bad guys up close and personal. The knockdown power, even for the diminutive 410, is more than a .45. Like Glaser safety ammo, you will do minimal damage to your neighbor if a wall or door is behind the perp coming at you. The other consideration is that if you had to use a 12 ga. indoors, like in a hallway, have you ever wondered if you would still be functional after the flash and concussion? To that, I plead inexperience! In theory, and given the time to put on your wolf-ears, maybe not so bad.
