[QUOTE=trip286;1474182]That made me smile

Just looked at the mossy website. $560 for a DC 500.

Sorry. When you can pick up a Remmy 870 or Mossy 500 at a pawn shop for as little as $200 in some cases, and up to the highest price I've seen on a used Mossy 500 of $350... [QUOTE]

I have not priced a standard 870 or 500 in a long time; but, are we not comparing new vs. used prices here?

Yeah, I am. But have you looked at a used one in a pawn shop? Hell, some of them even still have the box with them.

There really is no need whatsoever to ever buy a new 870 or 500. They're a dime a dozen used, and most often look like they've never had a shot fired through them.

Maybe they could make a matched Ellen and Rosie pair, with pink camo, and make a case so that they were laying... Oops. I threw up on my keyboard. Sorry.

Go into a pawn shop next time and take a peek. You'll find them, different models and styles, almost brand new, looking like they've never been fired, for hundreds less than new price.

I'd buy a new shotgun if it were a less common or higher end model, but I'd never buy a new 870 or 500. Just isn't worth it to me. They're like the Honda civic of the gun world. Everywhere, and just about the most common trade fodder you'll ever find (as far as shotguns go).

If anyone really has a problem with that, then oh ****ing well.

If makers of t-shirts, guns, cups, bandanas and all kind of other stuff want to slap their name on it, and charge a premium... As long as people are paying that premium, customers are happy, and the makers and endorsers are happy, who should give a flying ****? It's called capitalism.

I understand NOT wanting to buy it for the mark up to add the Robertson name... I'm not going to buy one either, not at a premium price for their endorsement. But I damn sure don't have a problem with them making money off of it.
Well said!

if i could slap my name on some T-shirts, caps and cups and make a few bucks, you can bet your last dollar i would be all over it!

It would be a double barrel wearing 1970's style and no cleaning rod included. Just a rubber mop.
