The crack isn't bad....as long as the stock is tight I wouldn't mess with it and as far as the choke a quick way to test it is to see if a dime will fit in the barrel because if it does then it is a modified choke or bigger and is safe to shoot a slug out of.....THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON A 12GA

Thanks man but mine is a 20g so not much luck there. I know the crack isn't that bad but I want to pass this down in the family in the future and I would like to try and find a stock without any scratches but I want to keep it as it should be as much as possible

I may just leave it and not mess with it to but I would just like to find one for it before all of them are gone for good if they aren't already

Boyd's gunstocks has them in stock for $74+ shipping.http://.wwwboydsgunstocks.com They can ship an unfinished stock in as little as 1 to 2 days. The MOssberg 185 and 85 stocks are indentical to each other. Give them a try.

Called up my friend. No go on the stock. He sold the last one he had 2 months ago. If he still had it he would have given it to me cheap, but No luck. Check out boyd's, and you should be good to go. Good luck.
