I have the opportunity to purchase a Mossberg 590A1 model 52682
which is a 6 shot 18 1/2" heavy barreled shotgun with a speed feed stock, I have had my eye on a Mossberg 590A model 50645
that is a 9 shot regular 20" barreled shotgun.
Here is the rub, I don't hunt, So I wouldn't be using either shotgun for anything but targets or home defense.
What I am wondering is the 590A1 is going to be about $60 more then the 590A Is it worth spending the extra money in your opinion? Money is somewhat an issue, I can afford either one, But do I NEED the 590A1?
FWIW, The 590A is a retail sell and the 590A1 is a private.
This will be my first shotgun purchase, I have handled a few of the Mossberg 500/590's and I like the fit and feel of them, I prefer the Parkerized finish more than the Blued, But I can live with either.
Thanks for any thoughts and or suggestions.
