I have a Mossy 500. I cut it down to 19 inches and put a pistol grip on it. For home defense it is hard to beat a compact shotgun. That pistol grip is not much fun at the range. But it sure is easy to weild through a doorway.

I'd take my 500A over an 870 any day. I have never had an issue with my mossy. I've had 870's right out of the box hit my bench. In my opinion the mossberg is a good simple design. Plenty of aftermarket options out there for it too.

Thanks for the reliability comments.
What about being able to use the small shells. Can the moss use all the small shells or only the 3" and 2.75?

Yes the gun can take both shells, and from things I'm hearing both the 500 and 870 are having issues with the quality of their guns. but the two are still the most reliable pumps on the market, and there is always a chance of getting a lemon.

Cool thanks i was wanting to make sure because the 1.75 shells will be great for the wify to shoot and still use the 3 in. For home defence.
Thanks for the info.

Can you add an AR stock to a stock Persuader with just a pistol grip? That seems to be the cheapest way to get what I want....a Tactical Mossberg 500. I can get a Persuader for $299, and a stock kit for $100 max instead of buying an already built tactical for $473 at Bud's. But will it work?
