Mossberg 535
 

i've got a friend that's looking to sell the mossberg 535, and i've been in the market for a hunting shotgun, i've done the research on the 535 and it's pretty much what i'm looking for, and i've gone through as much as i can on it, extremely clean and i know how much it was used, and it was only bought last year. the problem is the price, with about 100 rounds put through it, i'm trying to decide if $300 for this is worth it? anyone have any opinion? or does anyone suggest looking for something else in the same price range that may be a better all around hunting shotgun? thanks!

Is it the camo synthetic one? ATS Turkey?
Because Wal*Mart has these new for about $364.00 or so, in my area.

You can get a new one for around $350 or so, plus additional tax and possibly some paperwork. If he is indeed your friend, he should not have a problem parting with it for $275. I would give no more than $275 for it.

It is used and has been driven off the lot. ;)

it's the ATS turkey/deer combo in that woodland camo finish. i've been looking around for one but i can really only find them for about 375 up here in mass, maybe that's my problem. he said that he was looking for around 300 so maybe i can work a few bucks off. the only thing is that i've felt bad, i don't want to really try and jip him off the price only because i know he's been hurting for money since knee surgery left him unemployed. but it's also not a sympathetic buy either. thanks for the help though so far!

THIS is a good idea, maybe he has a soft case for it or something too.

we all know that gun prices much like car prices fold as soon as you walk out the door with one but it does help to know the true history behind the gun and in my opinion 100 round put thru it is still brand new. that isnt enough for me to want to go home and clean it so i would have to look at it as 300 for a brand new gun is not a rip IMHO jump for it

For around the same price you can get a remington 870 much better in my opinion but if the guy is your friend and going on hard times perhap you should concider helping him

300 really isn't bad, but like somebody else said, see if he'll toss in an extra box of shells or something

That is true. Im not trying to turn this into another mossberg vs remington thread, im not sure what a new 535 costs cause im a remmy guy but id look into getting a new gun for just a little more.
