i havent done much with a 500 but all of my 870's perform great.Ive never had jamming problems or any other problems out of them and ive put thousands of shells through them.

I have both also. I have a Mossberg 535, 500 and a Remington 870. Both good guns. The Remington is a few months old and never had a jam. My son shoots trap with it and has already put around 500 rounds with no jam's

I have a 500 best 300 I ever spent not a single issue with it well over 500 rounds threw it theres just something about the click CLICK that runs off any would be intruders
