any firearm i buy, new or used, gets a field stripping when i get home and then cleaned and inspected. two reasons, one if it's new i want to clean it thoroughly and inspect it for proper operation, and that the bore is clear. same for a used one. for a new one, finding a problem and getting it fixed is much easier the sooner it's discovered. two, thorough cleaning and oiling will aid in it's operation, because most greases and oils from the factory are for storage or transport, not operation.
