No matter what you do, keep it or sell it, you didn't lose money on the deal.

thanks, so far I like the set-up. I do want to get me a tactical foreend w/ vertical grip later on but that won't be for a while probably.

Just heard back from Mossberg, my shotgun was serialized in May 1993. Just emailed back with my Dad's serial number to find out when his was manufactured. What I do know about my dad's is its stamped Revelation made for Western Auto Supply Co.

OK Mossberg couldn't help me on a date on my dad's as its too old. They directed me to a Mossberg Collection Group out of Fenton, MO (I believe it is) nd they said the G serial numbers like his range from 1973-1977 and his serial # is about 1/3rd way through so best guess is late 1974.

I just ordered an 18.5 inch barrel from Mossberg today, as well as I have the gun shop that I deal with quite a bit ordering me a tactical forend with tri-picatinny rails and a folding vertical foregrip.

I haven't had a chance to make it to the range yet, to try it out since buying it. Once I do, I will post it on here. However I did take 3 of my target shells and empty the shot out of 'em to turn 'em in to blanks, and shot them off in the air last night for the 4th of July. Although must have lost to much pressure by emptying them out and even though they did go off, it was only about half as loud as I suspect it should be and had no recoil at all. I'm sure with live ammo it will be just fine.
